Thank you for visiting our new Internet site. As a progressive labor organization, we want to give our members and you the opportunity to stay informed and in touch with our organization. Workers bargain with strenth for wages, benefits and rights when they join together. The voices of many are louder than the voiced of any one individual. Thats why it's important to organize.
This organization was formed in June 1937 to represent Electrical Workers employed by the Reading Railroad with the objective of providing job security, dignity in the work place, improving wages benefits and working conditions.. Today, we represent Electrical Workers employed by the Railroad Division of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) in the areas of Maintaining: Mechanical Equipment; Power Distribution; Bridge and Buildings; Communications Systems; and Overhead Catenary Systems thorugh out the entire Railroad Division of SEPTA. The goals are the same today as it was then.
At present, our web site is still under construction. We are making an effort to present you with our entire range of information as soon as possible. The general membership meetings are held monthly on the first Thursday of the month at Currans Irish Inn 6900 Longshore Ave. and Old State Street; Philadelphia (just south of the) Cottman Ave exit of I-95 2nd Floor. Meetings are scheduled for 5:30PM.
